Well, if it works and the compression is too high a base gasket isn't expensive. Did you use any copper spray or rtv at least? Hopefully the rings work out for you.

Yea i used copper coat. Thats what i thought about the base issue. I took it around the block a minute ago, not long enough to see if it is spark knocking or not. So far so good. Im posting a vid in a minute. Let me know how you think it sounds.

Thanks, i ran to wally world and back and it runs good. Sure is nice to have the power back, now for a pipe and a new bearing. When i get that stuff i will take it apart again to check the carbon buildup. Guess i got lucky LOL

Great a success story, and you didn't even have to buy new rings or piston. I'll bet if you took it to a shop they would have told you you needed the works, piston, rings, total top end.

Ohh yeah the works all right. They would have banked off allot of people. Thanks again for your encouragement Rebel Seems to be running great. No spark knock, witch kinda surprises me because im not using a base gasket.

i agree if in doubt alway err on the side of too much oil instead of too little.

what ive been running for the last 6000 miles or so is ipone yes it has a strawberry scent but when you do a group ride with a bunch of 2 strokes it smells a bit better and when i come in from tinkering the old lady doesnt whine about the ode de 2 stroke
and it was designed for scoots
the zuma auto lube is 40 to one the few guys that have dumped it and gone to pre mix are running 32 to 1 with the mid race and race bbks

I am waiting on a new belt from Autotech on ebay(fast shipping BTW). I had my cover off the other day and noticed the "glaze" on my variator from the belt stops about 7-10mm before the top. I know its been brought up before, but it doesnt look like there is enough belt to travel that far up. I did the ole rev,n,check on the center stand, then i marked the pulley with a magic marker then went for a ride. Sure enough, i didnt measure but im guessing 7-10mm of travel left for the belt. I need an extra belt anyway so i ended up ordering a 788x16.5x30 versions the 780 i have now. It might help, it might not My scoot seems lazy on the top end since i got it back together. I think the compression is down a bit. I used to have to kick start it, now the electric will fire it up. Ive been meaning to rewire the start, and battery wires but havent gotten that far yet.

Mine uses a 788 lenght belt stock. I think you'll be pleased. It could probably stand to be just a tad larger, but I never did get the 798 kevlar belts I ordered to be sure if they would work out alright.
