need info on 1p57qmj camshaft upgrade performance cam for this gy6 engine... performance one preferable.. is it the same as a normal gy6 150 or is it different cause of the different cyclinder sizes between the gy6s

Seems to me that they are the same. My understanding is that the "P" motors are just a hair taller in respect to how the cam sits so they need a timing chain that is longer. I'm not 100% positive on that though.

I recommend new performance valve springs to go with your new cam. China scoots don't seem to like high rpms. It seems to me that the destruction happens frequently from collapsed /broken valve springs leading to bent /dropped valves. I'm sure [ carlos ] autotech355 on ebay can help with the cam, and some springs also. My first choice for springs would be some from Kliff if he has made any more of his special springs. It's cheap insurance. Good luck! Rob

Kliff recommends the NYC springs, since he is not making them right now, he said he is not doing them until next Spring.

I read on another site today that the A-9 gives you better mid and top power and a A-14 gives you better low end to mid range power. That was on a parts suppliers web page, so take it for what it is worth.

I saw a graph on the cam duration and lift of different GY6 cams. Let me see if I can dig it up. I heard that as well Rebel.

an a-11 will give good bottom end and mid range power, and I agree with changing the valve springs, as alot of the cams I have seen have a little different lift than what they say they do

I had a 61mm slip in on my wifes 150 buggy, it did well but at 9500 rpm on a constant basis it did live very long. They do well on scooters that dont turn that much rpm all the time

A12 is the best bolt on cam....i highly recommend a port and polish when installing a camshaft to move the increase air / fuel flow.
A14 is good for bigger bores and gives a ton of torque
Then there are the super T300 cams for stroked and bored out engines..

this is the pic I referred to above. I noticed it was in an unusual format that people might not have software to read. Attachments:
