I don't know these guys, but I just saw their web page and they have some crazy low prices on the scooters. A 150cc for $569.00. www.superiorpowersports.com/

Ya, well I've been hearing some bad thing about GES regarding a change in the way they honor guarantees, service after the sale. You are right though about a cheap scooter from them.

The only bad thing I heard about GES was some stuff in deciding when the warranty coverage for a blown engine should be satisfied. They had a new engine ready to ship waiting for the old one to show up and the old one's owners were trying to get verification or something before they sent it. Paperwork, paperwork.
I don't know, a GY6 is pretty simple. And cheap. $300 for a short case, $375 for a long case. People get all in a lather when for a few bucks (comparatively) they can solve their own troubles.
When I blew my valve springs John was ready to send me a whole head but I had kliff on the case at that time with mine. I just said, send me gaskets, that's all I need (the scooter was under warranty)

On my trip to Los Angeles this week. I dropped in on "Superior". The office has about 6 or 8 scooters around for display, most of them have "not for California" signs on them, and a couple are outside on display. The office help are all sitting at tables working on computers. My impression is that the display is set up to fulfill a DMV requirement for dealerships to have a show room. It was the kind of place that when I left, I felt like I needed to take a shower.

I've had ongoing problems with Jacob of SPS.com, and have come to the conclusion that he can be as deceitful as anyone in the business. Its remarkable that this company is able to exist.

It is too bad too. For a long time we were getting positive feedback about them. Looks like they decided the profit margin was too low to keep customers happy and coming back.

when this engine burns out i have now, i will get a sym 170.
there are just too many manic depressants, socio-paths and other monsters of every stripe in the china bike sellers community for me to mess with it.
I have too much self respect.
scooters are not regulated any more then health insurance, you pay, maybe they cover.
Only now that the chinese will no longer buy our t-bills, are you seeing the big swindlers in DC talk about import sanctions, fair trade that protects jobs, not freetrade that protects billioniares in home office desks making millions importing juck and hiring no one.
Will things change?
in a consumer first country the lower shelf scoots should just be banned, too light, too little, and I really don't wanna turn into a work on my scooter zombie 24-7 with no time for anything else.
I have been mostly lucky, but to do it, i have had to crawl over so many "beings" who are not even people yet, i am sick from it.
That the head MGR at BMS parts would call me and say I just put it on the truck but did not just put it on the truck and i have to haggle for 3 weeks, then he admits he never sent it, is prime example of the mindless ness of this culture.
certainly nothing shows the mind set of masochistic brainwashing of everyday people then watching themselves get fleeced and then telling your self-
"I am king of the highway"
one of the main reason's it has turned into such a "watch your ass game"is some folks will do anything to ride a scooter and get a thrill.
And these same folks will put up with any indignation to ride, i know economics plays a big part, but the scooter community, because of low quailty, can grow no larger then the folks who are willing to spend a dispoportionite amount of time working on them.
and untill scooter riders have a little more self respect, and demand more as a consumer group and have a lot less addiction to riding at the cost of all dignity. the market forces that would most times weed the crooks out-drive quality up will never happen, and many of thoses crooks are chinese.
THANKFULLY TVNACMAN IS GETTING INTO THE GAME OF SELLING PARTS, PLUS HE LOVES OPOSSUMS
